Free e-Books for the GRE

Study online for the GRE Literature

There are many of places to find free e-books on the Internet, some of which can be downloaded as PDF files. These resources can be very helpful as you study for the GRE literature. Google books probably has the most extensive collection, but the fact that all of their books are viewable as images (of each individual scanned-in page) means that you can’t easily copy and paste text from the e-book and into your notes. If this is something you want to be able to do, you may want to explore some other online book resources. The following websites offer extensive collections of free, public domain e-books in various formats.

Free eBook Websites

bibliomania – a wide selection of classic literature, viewable in text format.
Internet Public Library - The first public library of and for the Internet community librarian chick – this site has an excellent of open source course materials, study guides, books and other media. Definitely worth checking out.
The Free Library – A free, search-able archive that provides access to a daily-updated collection of 4 million articles from classic works of literature and leading periodicals.
Greek Gods Family Tree – A tree graphing the genealogies of the Greek gods. There is some Greek mythology on the GRE Literature, but I wouldn’t go too crazy trying to memorize all of it. Focus on the most common gods and myths, and you should be ok.
BookRags - Over 4 million pages of literature summaries, biographies, literary criticism, essays, encyclopedias, and eBooks.
